"For certain exceptional trees it seems just natural that man has told tales and fables about them, has attributed special qualities such as powers or gifts to them, has raised them to monuments of their time or just simply given them names.
The relation between outer appearance and these attributed yet often invisible qualities is the theme of Christoph Rihs’ ongoing series of photographic works about trees, where he combines a multitude of images to a new, broken mirror like vision."
